1. Competitions are run on a quarterly basis.

2. Entries are limited to two per individual. Any additional entries beyond this that are received risk voiding all the entries from the individual at the discretion of the judges.

3. For the drawing competition, entrants must be between 5-15 years of age.  For the photographic competition, entrants can be of any age.

4. Entry is free but should be made though a valid email address of a parent. Please obtain your parents approval. We can only correspond with adults. All submissions must be made through the competition email address and will not be accepted if submitted in any other way.

5. The prize will consist of a full Robin Hood outfit comprising: hat, tunic, bow & arrows, sword and dagger to an approximate value of £20.

6. The prize will be posted by 2^nd class post within 10 days of a decision. 

7. The winner of the prize draw will be notified by email, so it is in your interest to check that the given email address is correct.

8. The prize is not transferable to any other party.

9. No cash alternative will be offered.

10. By entering this competition you have agreed to receive email with updates on competition winners, other news, special offers and late availability information.  You may later opt out.

11. Email addresses will be held on the Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest database and will not be made available to other third parties.

12. Employees of Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest, together with their agent Hoseasons, their family and anybody professionally connected to the promotion are not eligible to enter.

13. Notwithstanding there are 4 competitions per year, a maximum of two prize wins per year per individual /family is allowable.

14. We reserve the right to publish any of the submissions received on our web site or news letter. By submitting your drawing, painting, sketch or photograph you have unreservedly agreed that these may be published in any marketing materials of Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest and have withdrawn any rights to copyright.

15. The prize is awarded on the basis that the winner agrees to have their prize win notified on the news email distributed to individuals that are registered on the Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest database and posted on the web site. The notification will be on the lines of ‘John from Hertfordshire was the winner of our spring competition for their magnificent drawing/photograph attached herewith. John looks forward to receiving his prize which has been despatched.’

16. Any drawing, painting, sketch or photograph that is from a ‘runner up’ that is published will not have any credits made of the person submitting.

17. If you win, our email to you will request details of your address so that we can forward the prize. We will not issue the address to any other party or use this for any other purpose.

18. We can only accept photographs that include pictures of people, particularly children if valid consent is made to publish them and for children this must be from their parents. Where a photograph that includes a picture of a person or child is deemed to be the wining picture, we will email the winner asking for consent to publish. If consent if not forthcoming within 5 days of the email being sent we will assume consent is withheld, destroy the photograph and select an alternative winner. For security reasons, any photograph that is published will only include the forename of the person or child in the photograph together with the County they live in. Thus surnames and addresses will not be published.

19. Competition dates are based around the four calendar Quarter Days that were common in mediaeval times in England and are still used today

 

20. The judges’ decision is final.
